Satay Lilit Stalls Near The Fish Market

Around Kedonganan Fish Market, you’ll find small grills selling freshly made sate lilit — minced fish mixed with spices and grilled on lemongrass sticks. You’ll see the vendor mixing minced fish with grated coconut, lime leaves, chilli and fragrant Balinese spices before wrapping it around lemongrass sticks and grilling it over hot charcoal. The smell alone is enough to stop you in your tracks — smoky, citrusy, and a little sweet. If you plan to visit, check out our comprehensive guide to visiting the Jimbaran Fish Markets.

Price: IDR 5,000 – 15,000

Located: along the fish market

Why we loved it: smoky, fragrant and uniquely Balinese

Nasi Jinggo

This tiny banana‑leaf wrapped meal is a local favourite — a humble little bundle that packs way more flavour than you’d expect. Inside, you’ll usually find a scoop of rice topped with spicy sambal, a tangle of fried noodles and a small portion of chicken, tempeh, or shredded fish.

It’s the kind of snack you can eat with one hand while wandering the market. Despite its size, it’s surprisingly satisfying — and one of the best-value bites you’ll find in Jimbaran.

Price: IDR 5,000 – 10,000

Located: Pasar Desa Jimbaran

Why we loved it: perfect for breakfast or a quick snack while exploring

Jalan Pasar

Colourful, coconut‑filled, chewy, and wonderfully sticky — Bali’s traditional sweets are something you absolutely shouldn’t skip. These little treats are a big part of local food culture, and you’ll find them piled high at markets and roadside stalls. Make sure you try klepon, those soft green rice balls filled with molten palm sugar that bursts in your mouth, and dadar gulung, the bright green coconut pancakes rolled up with sweet, fragrant coconut. They’re cheap, delicious, and the perfect way to taste a bit of everyday Balinese life.

Price: IDR 2,000 – 5,000

Located: Pasa Desar Jimbaran

Why we loved it: fed our craving for something sweet without over indulging

Fresh Coconut on Jimbaran Beach

It might not be a full meal, but cracking open a fresh young coconut on Jimbaran Beach is one of those simple Bali pleasures. Vendors wander the sand with stacks of green coconuts and they’ll slice one open right in front of you. You get a huge, ice‑cold drink straight from the shell — naturally sweet, slightly salty, and incredibly refreshing after a few hours in the sun.

Price: IDR15,000 – 25,000

Located: Jimbaran Beach front

Why we loved it: Hydrating, refreshing, cheap and the ultimate beach vibe — especially at sunset

so refreshing on a hot day

Kedonganan Village is one of the best places in Jimbaran to eat cheaply. Stick to the small, family‑run warungs and street stalls, and you’ll enjoy delicious, authentic Balinese food for just a few dollars. It’s the perfect way to eat like a local without stretching your budget.
